    Q: What is Hospice?
    A: Hospice is a gift of caring for those you love. It is also specialized care for people on life’s final journey, emphasizing comfort, dignity and pain management.

    Q: Who pays for Hospice care?
    A: Hospice is paid for by Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance or Private Pay. At Journey Hospice we assess patients based on need and not financial status.

    Q: Is Journey Hospice a trusted resource?
    A: Yes. Journey Hospice is recognized by all relevant government agencies. They are members of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and comply with all NHPCO principles.

    Q: Where can a patient receive Journey Hospice care?
    A: Journey Hospice patients may receive care wherever they reside, including at home, nursing facilities, inpatient facilities, assisted living facilities and family member’s homes.

    Q: Must Journey Hospice patients be homebound?
    A: No. Many patients are able to continue attending church, visiting relatives, and even traveling out of town.

    A: Patients returning to a hospital or nursing home can continue to receive inpatient care.

    Q: How can an early referral help?
    A: Early referrals enables hospice to be more effective and efficient. The sooner a patient receives hospice service, the more the patient and family benefits.

    A: Patients have the right to see their own physicians whenever they feel it is necessary.
